Recipe: PIZZA DOUGH
This pizza dough recipe is based on a recipe I
got online for a Dominos style pizza dough and is supposed to serve 4. I,
however, divide it into about 20 balls. So, the dough that is supposed to serve
one person, actually serves 5!
The original recipe uses white flour, but I
substituted it with wholemeal flour to add more fibre. This has the added value
of filling you up more, despite the super thin base.
Also, this recipe is for use with a bread
machine. I'm no expert in making bread, so I'm not sure how you would make it
without one. If others can shed light on this, please leave a comment below.
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 5 cups wholemeal bread flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp yeast
Instructions
- Put wet ingredients in bread machine.
- Add flour.
- Add other dry ingredients (keep yeast and salt apart).
- Select dough programme and start programme.
- Once programme is finished put dough out on a large floured chopping board.
- Make a long sausage and divide into quarters.
- Divide each quarter into a further five pieces.
- Wrap or bag any dough balls you aren't going to use straight away and freeze.
